Competition Rules

Coast FM runs regular competitions both on-air and via our web site.  We welcome competition entries on the basis that you are agreeing to the following important terms and conditions which are designed to ensure our competitions are balanced and fair.

(1)   Staff members, freelance contributors and their families are not eligible for competition prizes (though are still welcome to enter the competitions). 

(2)   Where a prize has been supplied by a third-party, those connected with supplying the prize are not eligible to enter.

(3)   While we welcome entries from all listeners, certain restrictions (such as health or age related) may apply to certain prizes.  We will make this clear on air but no prize alternatives are available.

(4)   Where businesses enter competitions, we reserve the right to omit the business name when awarding prizes or acknowledging entrants (no free plugs!)

(5)   Multiple entries from the same household may be disqualified if we deem the level of entries makes it unfair to other listeners.

(6)   We reserve the right to ensure that prizes are distributed evenly (in the interest of fairness to all listeners, we reserve the right to prevent the same household winning multiple competitions in quick succession).  Nobody likes a ‘prize pig!’

(7)   If we have asked for your name or telephone number, this does not imply that you have won a competition.  This is merely to allow us to call back contestants to put them on air.

(8)   Any entrant found to have supplied false information will be disqualified and will forfeit their prize.

(9)   We accept no liability if you are unable to enter due to technical difficulties or because telephone lines are busy.

(10)  Competition winners can usually expect to receive their prizes within 28-days.  As these may often be supplied by a third-party, we can accept no responsibility or liability regarding delivery or provision of competition prizes and act in good faith.

(11)  Some prizes may have to be collected in person, in which case identification may be required.

(12)  If prizes are not collected within a reasonable time-period, we reserve the right to re-award the prizes.

(13)  No exchanges or alternatives are available regardless of the prize being offered.  Prizes have no exchangeable cash value even if we have mention on air that a prize is worth “xxx pounds”.

(14)  Prizes are not usually transferrable.  We will make it clear on air if a prize IS transferrable and you should enter competitions only on the basis that a prize is NOT transferrable.

(15)  Certain restrictions may apply on the resale of competition prizes which may not be permitted (for example car hire and airline tickets).

(16)  All entrants acknowledge that their contribution may be used for promotional purposes by Coast FM both on and off-the-air (i.e. in audio and video trailers, web-site quotes or photographs etc).

(17)  Coast FM reserves the right to disqualify any listener from any competition without reason; or to cancel a competition if circumstances arise that, in our opinion, require this.

(18)  Any listener that is deemed to have been unfairly aided (by a third-party or through use of technology) may be disqualified.

(19)  As stated, entering any Coast FM competition implies that the above rules and conditions are accepted.
